A place serving home-cooked Australian food. The thing that I love most about this place is that they serve breakfast meals all day long. The food itself is not that fancy, but that’s just not what I aim for when I’m having a meal. The home cooked meals that they serve are just simply comforting and some are very healthy indeed.
An hiddem gem in Jakarta. Just discovered this café today and enjoyed my time there.
It feels like a family owned bistrot. Great atmosphere. The crowd is international (Asian, European, Australian, Indonesian ...)
The food is also great by the way.
The only negative thing, Kemang and its unbearable traffic.
There's just something about this little space cafe. Serving down under homemade meals, it successfully delivers a humble homey touch to every plate. I went there on a Sunday morning, expecting myself to have a quiet brunch. In fact, the place was super packed with not just the locals, but foreigners too. Considering the small space and the number of people present on that day, it was quite hectic for the waiters and the kitchen staff. Fortunately, they were able to give good service. Fast response, great meals, and polite service.
We ordered all the breakfast dishes. The French toast with bacon and maple syrup (50k) was quite a combination. The slices of fried toast with a hint of cinnamon scent were topped with slices of bacon, while the maple syrup was separated in a small bowl. I couldn’t manage to enjoy the combined sweetness of the maple syrup and the salty bacon.
All day breakfast (60k) consisted of roasted tomatoes, baked beans, sausages, toasts and fluffy gooey scrambled egg. The kind of classic breakfast that can’t never go wrong. I love how all the elements on the dish were freshly made.
While the scrambled egg salmon on toast (60k) was generous with big chunks of cooked smoked salmon. The creamy scrambled egg was just perfect, accompanied with slices of toast on each side.
In addition, we also ordered the Sweet Paprika Chicken with chickpea salad. Simple pan fried of chicken with a little bit of turmeric, side by side with the fresh sour chickpea salad with chunks of tomatoes and coriander.
All the dishes resembled simplicity at its best. The food wasn’t artistically presented, it presented itself. If you really think about it, it’s basically just hearty sincere home cooked meals, but you see… Sometimes it’s these kinds of meals that makes you keep coming back for more..
