Bam! Tapas & Sake Bar, As The Name Suggests, Is All About The “Wow!” Factor. Rather Than Your Traditional Tortilla Espagnol Or Customary Croquetas, Bam! Offers “Modern Spanish Tapas With Asian Touches” In The Form Of Ingredients Like Otak-Otak (Fish Cake), Tobiko (Flying Fish Roe) And Of Course A Large Range Of Sakes, Which We Are Assured Complement Spanish Food Very Well. The Menu Is Simplistic With 4 “Signatures,” A Couple Of Paellas And A List Of Around 18 Tapas Dishes Which Changes Every Couple Of Months Depending On Availability And The Creative Fancy Of Catalunyan Head Chef Arturo Godó I Hernández. We Begin With One Of Their Most Modestly Priced Tapas Dishes, The “Seasonal Vegetable Stew”. It’S Packed With Delicately Flavoured Asparagus, Carrots, Radishes And More, Accentuated With Aniseed Hits From Fennel Fronds, A Warm Umami Undertone From The Porcini Foam And The Slightest Saltiness From Tiny Cubes Of Bacon. Other Tempting Plates Include Their “Pig Ear Tempura, Watercress, Spicy Vinaigrette,” And Their “Suquet Of Fish, Clams, Lobster, Hazlenut”. With Plates Priced Between (Roughly) Idr 35,000 To Idr 600,00, A Few Of The Dishes May Seem A Bit Pricey, But Bear In Mind That They Are Larger Portions Than Your Average Tapas.
Went there with a friend to have dinner and do some catching up, the place is cozy, the service is good and helpful (they're always around to assist).
We ordered baby sotong with kampong egg, the dish look small at first glance, then they cut it and serve it properly for us to eat, the taste was magnificent!! The taste of the egg yolk, squid and everything is just mixed together creates a delightful textures of taste.
Next is Beef Tongue, actually it looks like a steak but once you eat it long with the sauce and garnish... We were out out of words.. Its more than delicious.... Its more to perfect..
We also order Pasta la Plancha, the dish's appearance was small, there are 5 pieces of large pasta, covered with sauces, chorizo and looks pan seared (saw some burnt marks). And when we eat it...... We feel the unspeakable orgasm on our taste buds.. We can even speak to each other... Closes our eyes and say.. "Oh my God...." Repeatedly.. Ita was the beat dish ever!!
For the sake we choose Junmai (750ml), it was so good, we all can feel the warm, the rice taste, smooth but nobody is drunk..
Overall, good place, good services, best food, best drinks... The price? I would say ITS WORTH IT..
Definitely coming back again when i have the chance!!
Interesting concept of Spanish and japanese fusion. They have two bars, Spanish and japanese, separately. I tried the Spanish one. Paella and lot fusion seafood dishes. Would def do paella and the pork dish. Heard it's pork jaw meat. Very tender and good composition with flavors of pickled fennel and the sauce.
