Top 8 cafes/eateries in Renon without burning a hole in your pocket!
Renon could be considered the central location in Bali where you can find many government offices, tons of businesses and of course, lots of campuses for the college and University students.
Due to the high frequency of office workers and students alike, Renon has seen a massive boom in eateries and cafes, most of which serves really good food, nice place to see and be seen and most importantly, it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket!
What we love about places like these is that everyone strives very hard to be different in terms of coming up with variations, an original menu and of course creativity in setting up a nice location and most of them usually give their very best service to customers as competition is obviously very high within the area. Here are our picks!

The main menu has creative twists like Pindang Fettucine and also their own take on classic Indonesian street food like your classics Chicken Noodles or Smoked Duck Noodles, all homeruns.
The desserts are simply to die for, don’t forget to order the Nutella Cheesecake and also Toblerone Pancake!

2. White Canny
If you’re a fan of cute-sy little places, look no further! The setting of White Canny looks straight off from a Disney movie setting or a classic 50’s American movie. Think nice, big clean white house, with white picket fences and a nice, lush green garden, you get the picture.
Other than having a nice exterior and interior, White Canny serves pretty decent food and of course, at an affordable price. A decent selection of pastas and one to try would be their pizza menu. The White Canny pizza is apparently a very popular choice amongst the regulars there.

3. The Alleyway Cafe
Address: No. 10 Jalan Merdeka, Renon, Denpasar, Bali.
We really like the generous portions they serve here at Alleyway and for such a good price, which is why this place has gained a lot of popularity amongst the locals and students alike. A nice, chilled ambience and cosy décor also makes this place extra cosy for anyone to come hangout.
They have prepared a simple, classic diner menu that consists of your fish and chips, hotdogs, and salads and for us, we really like the burgers here, namely their Beef burger. Grilled beef patty, cheese, beef bacon, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, BBQ sauce AND wedges and salad, all for just under 40k. For that price, the food here is really good, except on weekends and crowded hours you’d have to fight for seats!

With a good selection of traditional food items like Nasi Tempong, Nasi Pecel, Sego and whipping up traditional drinks like Wedang (Ginger based tea), Es Degan (Coconut based beverages), it is sure to take you back to simpler times in Indonesia where food like those were really popular!

7. Waroeng Spesial Sambal (SS)
Address: No. 36 Jl. Tukad Barito
Most Balinese would have probably heard of the famous or rather ‘infamous’ Warung Spesial Sambal or Warung SS for short, the establishment which popularized crazy, spicy sambals, all on a menu, ready for you to pick amongst the 30-40 choices of just sambals alone.
With their original restaurant in Batubulan doing really well since its opening, they have since expanded and branched out to Renon as it is filled with students who are always on the lookout for tasty food at affordable prices and Warung SS in Renon serves exactly that!
Pick your standard dish of meat (fish, chicken or beef), with rice, vegetables and of course mandatory to order a sambal from their impressive menu. Beware though! You have been warned, some of the sambal selections here will hurt going into your body and might hurt more going out of your body the next day!

8. Warung Cowboy
Address: No. 98, Jl. Tukad Yeh Aya, Renon, Denpasar, Bali
Warung Cowboy is a cute, quaint café that serves a really nice selection of their dishes with a twist and the entire restaurant is filled with the whole Cowboy and Western theme (hence the name).
Of course they have your standard menu of burgers, pastas and western food, but if we can recommend some dishes it would be the Bolognese Italian Omelette (heavenly!) and the Chocolate Pancake is another sinfully yummy dish!
Other than having a cool place, a good, affordable menu, what makes Warung Cowboy different is that they have prepared the classic board/table games for you to enjoy with your friends after having a nice meal during a gathering.
