Asuka Special Fuji Apple, Radish And Mirin To Create A Tangy Sweet Taste. Not To Worry If You Prefer A Familiar Tasting Sauce As The Outlet Has Mushroom And Black Pepper Sauces On Stand-By. Besides Steaks And Seafood, The Outlet Also Has A Variety Of Pasta Dishes On Our Menu.
Asuka, one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the city is located in JW Marriott hotel. Don't let the extremely strict security keep you from coming here. The setting is thick in Japanese nuance with natural wooden surrounding. The main room is filled with a big sushi counter, with several parted rooms around it.
You will be warmly and loudly greeted by the chef just like most Japanese restaurant and the servers will lead you to your preferred seating. Many believe that Asuka offers one of the best Omakase in town, but i still prefer Tatemukai and Kinokawa. I prefer a more fusion taste while Asuka offers more authentic Kyoto-style dishes.
Their Omakase menu cost IDR 1,500,000/pax for 9 course dining, while the Kaiseki menu cost IDR 1,360,000/pax for 10 course dining. Ingredients used are freshly flown from Japan and include exotic seasonal ingredients like Tara Shirako, or sperm of Pacific cod fish.
For their Omakase, you will get fresh Sashimi Moriawase consisting of Ootoro, salmon, kanpachi, tai and mirugai, Hirame Kobujime, or kelp top on thinly sliced flounder, Amadai Kaburamushi or steamed Japanese abalone, topped with wasabi sauce and ginko nuts, and other familiar dishes like assorted Sushi plate and Wagyu Tataki.
One other recommended dish that is off the menu here is their Sukiyaki, with option of US or Japanese Kobe Beef. In my opinion, it really is the best one in town. However dessert is not recommended here as the options are limited to fruits and ice cream. The later one tasted artificial.
Asuka is great for any kind of occasion, from family gathering, friends, romantic date or business entertainment. However more suitable to smaller groups due to intimate setting.
