A Very Deus Ex Christmas
Celebrate Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day brunch with Deux Ex Bali: the kind of people that understand that while the Slow Food movement is a good thing, everything else should be chromed out and moving at 200 kph.
We don’t know about the rest of you freaking squares, but for the outlaw gastronomes of Qraved Journal Bali you really cannot separate the words ‘Christmas‘ from the phrase ‘motorcycle stunt spectacular‘. We don’t know if it was just how we were raised, but the only thing we love more than a refined seven course tasting menu is chrome and speed.
When Deus Ex Bali announced that they were going to be having a Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas day brunch, our only question was ‘Where, when, and what part of me is getting tattooed this time?’
Then it turned out that tattoos weren’t part of it, which left us kind of relieved. Getting ‘foie gras’ tattooed across our knuckles seems kind of gauche, in retrospect.
But we’re digressing instead of discussing. Acclaimed Chef Salvatore Pesti will be cooking a multi-course set menu culminating in a Chirstmas-worthy serving of turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy or a slightly more urbane New Zealand lamb chop with roasted egg plant and tomato basil sauce, paired with a wine tasting course. Especially if you’re one of those people who is having Christmas far from home, this is the kind of food that feeds the soul as much as it does the stomach.
And while Santa may be settling for cookies and milk, he’s tearing through the stratosphere at sound-barrier destroying speeds to commit a kind of polite breaking and entering. This is a man who is going to need nothing less than protein and alcohol to get the job done right.
Christmas dinner with the Deus family is the kind of event that people wait for all year. Make your reservations now, or be left behind.
The spirit of Christmas is alive in Bali, and on the Qraved App for both iOS and Android.
