Nice place for a new eating experience for me
I ordered Fresh Spring Rolls, Tofu Stuffed Chicken and Prawn, Beef Pho, Turkey Fried Rice, and the most famous Iced Vietnamese Dripped Coffee with condensed Milk and Paradise Ice. Might be a bit too much for 2 girls, but for the sake of food tasting, we ordered all of this. Appetizer: Fresh Spring Rolls has a clean taste, really good for starting menu to prepare your food palate before hit by strong Vietnamese flavor. It has a strong Southeast Asian herbs and spices, they wrap some herbs, bee hoon, and cooked prawn or crab stick in the rice paper. Really thin and see-through and you dipped it in the “salad” sauce, mixed of garlic and chopped chili in tangy sweet fish sauce. I find it’s fascinating. If you don’t like cilantro you might hate this cuisine (my sister cannot swallow this because of the cilantro), but for me the spring rolls is fresh and exciting. Tofu Stuffed Chicken and Prawn is okey for me, the taste is pretty normal like you usually eat in Chinese restaurant. Good choice for a side dish and a protein kick. Main Course: Beef Pho is one of the national dishes of Vietnam. They serve a bowl of rice noodle and sliced-beef and veggies with other sauces in another plate. I love they separate the soup and the veggies and the sauces so I can mix it based on my preferences. The soup is hearty and has a clean flavor. I added the veggies, chili, and a brown sauce (the sauce reminds me of our Indonesian Petis). After I added the complements, my Beef Pho is so delicious. I like it! I bet the brown sauce is the hero for the Pho. Turkey Fried Rice is a bit bland; might be because of the strong-taste Pho we ate before, but we cannot enjoy the fried rice as much as we expecting. We mix our fried rice with the tofu sauce a bit to get the savoriness of oyster sauce, and it turns out pretty well. Say yes to tofu! Beverage: I love my Iced Vietnamese Dripped Coffee! The coffee itself is dense and strong and as they mix it with sweet condensed milk, the flavor is escalated. This is the true asian coffee culture, you simply cannot taste it in Europe, US or other continent, except in the China Town or Vietnamese restaurant. Simple yet so homey. Paradise Ice is similar with Chinese Dessert Soup (sekoteng dingin) but unfortunately too sweet for our tastebuds.
