- Rendang - (It might not be the prettiest photo on Instagram but it was just too good not to share)
Stop four on the food tour - this was last nights dinner and was by far the best thing I've eaten on my trip.
Rendang, a classic Javanese dish, is known as one of the best in the world and I can see why!
Traditionally made with beef, I opted for the veggie version, made with jackfruit. It was my first time eating this stuff and honestly, if I didn't know any better, I would've spat it out thinking it was beef. It was insanely good!
It's slowly cooked for 12 hours, in coconut milk and a homemade spice blend, served with cassava leaf soup (another Indonesian staple), corn fritter and all the trimmings.
It was worth coming to Ubud just to eat this! Thank you @waroengbernadette it was lovely to meet you xo
